the world. They are 1) Pacific Ocean 2) Atlantic Ocean 3) Indian
Ocean 4) Artic Ocean and 5) Antartic Ocean.
- What is a Bay? A Bay is a part
of the sea of the ocean projecting into a land area.
- What is a gulf? A gulf is a
smaller bay.
- What is a Rann? A Rann is a
marshy place near the sea which is covered by the sea occasionally.

result from the gravitational attraction between Earth, Moon and Sun.
On the sides of the Earth facing and opposite the Moon, its waters are
raised into a bulge relative to the ocean floor.
- What are the Springtides? The
highest tides are springtides. They occur twice a month at the times
of the new and the full moon. Since the Sun and Moon are then in a
straight line with the Earth, their gravitational pulls are combined.
- What are Neaptides? Neaptides
are the lowest tides. They occur when the Sun and Moon are at right
angles to the Earth and their pulls counteracts each other.
- Where is the dead sea? The dead
sea lies between the Arabian Peninsula and the Turkish Peninsula. It is
between Israel and Syria.
- Why is the dead sea called so?
The dead sea is called so because the extreme salinity and the density do
not allow the water animals like the fish live on it. So the sea is
called the dead sea.
- Why can a person stay afloat on the dead
sea? The density of the water in
the dead sea is so great that a person can stay afloat on
it.
